Amrit Goshala currently has 20 cows, camel, and a few more cows are going to be added soon. Goshala in Shimogga was founded on May 11, 2019. We maintain a number of cows at our goshala (cowshed), a place where cows are kept & looked after systematically. Donations are made by visitors themselves for the development of the goshala. These cows are fed nourishing, protein-rich, and vitamin-rich foods. The cows have been regularly examined by veterinary doctors & treated accordingly. The cow is considered a sacred & holy animal in the Hindu religion.
In the field of environmental protection and preservation, we are actively involved in the prevention of cruelty against animals given to them either by man or by nature. Many eminent and renowned social workers and philanthropists are associated with this holy venture of preserving and caring for these helpless animals. Our objectives are to provide treatment to sick and injured cows, take special care of cows that are physically weak and handicapped, provide information about cow breeding and its implementation, improve cow breeding.
